Do you live in a home base or do you travel full-time?

I've done both. Currently, I am traveling full-time and have been doing so for the past 16 months or so. It's a real experience, but it — as always — comes with its highs and lows… its benefits and its drawbacks.

I have covered an app that supports filming on the iPhone and having accurate timecode before, but now I just found out that the Blackmagic Camera App for iPhones also supports Tentacle Sync E and Track E timecode tracking!

This is incredible news because it means that you can use this free camera app on your phone and combine it easily with other cameras on set or just use one Tentacle Track E 32-bit float audio recorder. You can capture sound and sync in post with ease (no devices dangling on your phone).

Anyone have a clue how to manage to keep up a social media presence on all the platforms (X, YouTube, IG, LinkedIn, TikTok, etc.)? 

Zoom F6 Users Watch Out - New Firmware V2
For those who have been following this channel for a while: you know that I love the Zoom F6 Audio Recorder/Interface. It's incredible at recording 32bit float audio signals and gives you so much room to play with. But it's audio interface capabilities where kind of limited at 24bit.

Now, that is changed! The firmware upgrade V2 gives the Zoom F6 the 32bit float Audio Interface mode so that you can record all 6 inputs directly to your computer in glorious 32bit float without having to transfer the files from your SD card or anything.

This essentially makes the Zoom F6 a 32bit float 6 channel input audio interface + field recorder! That's kind of ridiculous and incredible that they were able to pack that into a firmware upgrade.

I've been on the road for a few months at this point. I am still working on my vision for this channel but it's coming together. I have some new ideas for videos and have already been working on some as well.

But in the mean tim: This is life. About 80% of the time.

I get this a lot: Traveling all the time must be nice. But work is still a big part of my days. I can’t just sit on the beach drinking Thai Tea 😅… I wouldn’t see much on my screen even if I did.

Being able to have a break, go for a swim, maybe some snorkeling, and then come back to sit down and program, edit, or answer emails. There is a lot and often over 8 hours of dedicated laptop work going on behind the scenes.

But: I have my vision. I have my goals. I know what I’m doing it all for.

So, I’ll be back here tomorrow and the day after and go hard! 

Bit of an update: I started a small community on Telegram to discuss all things tech, travel, and life.
The group is a bit like Discord with extra channels/topics and the ability for live (video) chats as well.
We can send screenshots/videos/etc. which can be extremely helpful when figuring out a tech issue.

This has been a crazy ride. Almost doubled the channel subscribers and hit the magical 10k like yesterday! What a wonderful way to end the year 🌸. With everyone here on my channel: thank you for being here, thank you for hitting the subscribe button, thank you for watching my videos. 

I'm still building my plan for 2023. Rest assured, I am definitely thinking about producing new videos. It may be a bit of a different video journey than last year, though.
