Another shout out - I have been working with another channel based on self improvement and mental well-being: @InstantCalmer101 - it has been relaunched this year with a new format. Short, pragmatic guided meditations and breathwork exercises to help with reducing stress and anxiety, building confidence and tools for helping you to achieve your goals in 2024. Updated regularly, be sure to check it out. Thanks!

Happy New Year! Lots of great stuff planned for 2024 - not least our editor´s new channel @ArtandContext - their latest video dives into the story behind the mysterious ancient frescos of Qusayr 'Amra - including the oldest known image of the night sky on a curved surface. Head over and check it out.

Head over to @ArtandContext for another fascinating story behind an artwork - the truly bizarre tale of Eadweard Muybridge, the man who stopped time.

Big shout out to our editor Manuel Rubio and his new channel @ArtandContext - head over there for a fantastic first video on Qing China. Similar vibe to Voices of the Past!

A shout out to the best documentary on the channel, tragically age restricted in its prime so perhaps you haven´t seen it. It is on the homepage - find yourself a free evening and dive in. It is so good, and written by @HistoryDose

This weekend...how often do you think about the Roman Empire?

Hello! Any more recommendations for similar slice-of-life diaries or journals from history? Nothing better than getting an idea of how real people lived.

Also - thanks so much for watching the latest video - and big thanks to Douglas Baker for putting together the imagery on it! And of course thanks to Ettore Mazza for his amazing artwork on the thumbnails.

Most epic video yet coming this weekend...

New 80 minute epic incoming - more details soon! But in the meantime, head over to the homepage to watch what is in my opinion the best video on the channel - 80 minutes telling the ENTIRE HISTORY of Western Piracy. Incredible work from @HistoryDose who wrote it, and Manuel Rubio who edits the videos on the channel. I know I have said it before - but it really is the best.

Of course, YouTube age restricted it so it will never appear on your feed - so seek it out on the homepage - it feels a real waste not to get more eyes on it.
