Spent today merging these 2 machine to make a 4x4 mini chipper. Just under 28"wide. Feels very sturdy. I put a hinge on the front end so the chipper tips forward for access to the anvil. This will be great for getting up hills or over rough ground.

I think this is the finished, except for paint. Lots of pull tests and tweaks to the mechanism this last couple weeks. Now for tech drawings and off to a test lab. Mid line attachment through the rear. Self adjusting tension for climber weight and rope diameter. No manual settings or special techniques. Realistically it's best suited for 11-12mm lines. I will upload a more detailed video soon now that I'm satisfied.

Been an unusually cold week on the West Coast. Device works fine in sub zero temp at least, but it does stick to your fingers. Have a good Christmas all.

Paddle boarder on Lake Cowichan yesterday. The lake is approximately 19 miles long, and he still had a way to go to reach the end. I recognized him at our campsite later, so he was delighted when I said I'd email him the photo. He looked about 60, and enjoying the wilderness with a couple of pals. Tap to see full image
