ICC prosecutor applies for arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Defence Minister Yoav Gallant. 

Israel has killed at least 15,103 children in Palestine’s Gaza since the onset of its war on the besieged enclave on October 7, the Palestinian Red Crescent Society has reported.

Children make up a majority of the mounting death toll, which currently stands at 35,272 Palestinians after 224 days of brutal Israeli assault.

The children who manage to survive in the war-torn enclave face a long road towards overcoming their mental and physical trauma. Prior to the war, half a million children were in need of mental health assistance but today, all one million children require mental health support, according to UNICEF. 

At least 35,000 people have been killed by Israel in its war on Palestine’s Gaza since last October.

Seventy percent of them have been babies, children and women, according to the Palestinian Ministry of Health.

Many thousands of others are still missing, presumed to be dead under the rubble of Gaza.

According to the United Nations, Israel’s ongoing bombardment of Gaza has internally displaced 85% of the territory’s population. The enclave is also suffering from acute shortages of food, clean water and medicine – a direct result of Israel’s crippling blockade on the besieged territory – with 60% of Gaza’s infrastructure damaged or destroyed.

Israel stands accused of genocide at the International Court of Justice. An interim ruling in January ordered Tel Aviv to stop genocidal acts and take measures to guarantee that humanitarian assistance is provided to civilians in Gaza. 

Israel continues to attack Palestine’s Gaza both with air strikes and troops on the ground despite a UN Security Council resolution passed on March 25 demanding an “immediate ceasefire”. 

The United Nations Security Council passed the Gaza ceasefire resolution on March 25, more than a half-year since Israel launched its offensive on Gaza following the October 7 attacks.

The resolution demands an immediate ceasefire and unconditional release of all hostages. Only the US abstained and the other 14 council members voted in favor.
