Hey all! So I’ve recently gotten a lot of views recently on my Locomotive Engineer Q+A video, so I figured why not do another one! (I’m a locomotive engineer at an American freight railroad) I’ve gotten a lot of questions about PSR, so I’ll definitely talk about that, but let me know what else you’d like to know about the job!

Hey all, thanks for voting in my recent poll and for all the feedback! After thinking about it, I’ve decided to keep the name, “The Four Foot,” because people seem to like it! Now I figured I’d explain what it meant. The Four Foot is an English railway engineering term that refers to space between the running rails. While standard gauge is 4’ 8.5” or 1,435 mm, this is used for simplicity. See chart below, and here’s the site I pulled this chart from if you want to check it out.

I’m thinking of changing the name of my channel, so that people have a better understanding of my content, plus I doubt most people get the reference anyways. What do you think I should name it??

Got a chance to visit Princeton with Alan Fisher and Jeremy Zorey last night to watch the new Avelia Liberty testing. One of the passes was definitely at 160 MPH (257 KPH). Expect a full video soon! https://twitter.com/thefourfoot/status/1385829788393385985?s=21

R211 fans! If one were to go looking for these cars in New York City, where should one start? I’m not familiar at all with the subway yards New York...

Today’s my first day back at work since March 11th, as I’ve been off with Covid. It’s a horrible disease that I assure you DO NOT want to get. Rest assured I’ll be getting back to my regular passenger rail related programming shortly. Thank you to everyone who’s sticking by me and this channel!

For those that don’t know, I’m a locomotive engineer at a Class 1 railway and I’m thinking of a Q &A video. Leave any questions about operating a train, freight railroads, or really anything else down below!

"U.S. Rep. Seth Moulton reintroduced a bill to Congress on Thursday that would invest $205 billion over five years to create a nationwide high-speed rail network."

Read more about it here: https://www.lowellsun.com/2021/03/12/seth-moulton-reintroduces-bill-to-create-205-billion-high-speed-rail-across-the-u-s/

In case you missed it, I did a video about exactly what might happen if this much money became available from Congress!

Can we make this map a REALITY??
