Welcome back to Fish people Friday.

Of course, Star Trek has fish people, and of course, they look like this. Nice rubber mask and some space age curtains is all it takes to get your fishy fix in this galaxy, apparently, but i'm not sure I'd have it any other way. I was always admittedly more of a Star Wars and comic kid when I was younger so my Trek knowledge, and therefore full knowledge of The Next Generation's Antedian's, is pretty limited, but I did read this on the wiki and found it rather funny.

'According to an unreliable, unverified account, during the late circa 2260s an Antedian ensign served aboard the USS Enterprise as a bridge officer. He was offended by the captain's use of the figure of speech "bigger fish to fry."

Welcome back to Fish people Friday.

Was trying to figure out why they changed this guy. Gill was a Kim Possible villain- classic outsider kid turning to evil and mutating into a slimy fish guy, that old chestnut, same old same old. But second time he shows up he's gone from this kinda cool creepy mud outfit to some big buff fish dude. Less charitable take is that there wasn't an awful lot to do with the character and this was the next best idea for a second episode comeback. More charitable is my man was taking stock of his issues and channeling them into the grind. Getting those meal prep's organised, listening to his fish trainer, building out those tri's and shoulders on the correct interval days. The first fish man to show us that a respect for the gym is universal and we are all capable. Even fish people.

Welcome back to Fish people Friday.

I want to remind you all that there was a point in time where Spyro was a prop to launch a toyline integrated with a video game series- the Skylanders- and that it was super popular. I dunno what was going on to make that happen, why *that* technology and *that* franchise came together, but they did, and my then-little cousin had a skylander cake with Gill Grunt at the top, so let me tell you, this guy had some clout. Spyro wasn't up there, it was Gill Grunt, and his anchor gun, and his fishy stare that settled in both directions. It's a bizarre time to think back on, the intensity at which it burned and then burned out- but that it came through as early as it did and had the success that it had really tells you just how much the Legend of Spyro reboot before it didn't meet expectations. And now all of that is the past, and Spyro's pretty much reset to where he was before. Curious.

Welcome back to Fish people Friday.

I was reminded of fish guy from the Mask Animated Series the other day when putting a video together. I couldn't tell you who he is or what he did on that show, it's been literal decades, and my brain is fading fast. He's like a Waynes World fella right, him and the putty guy? And he wore the mask one time too, became a big crazy fish man, real mad stuff, off the charts really. But my challenge to you is to guess why he was being mentioned in a future video. What could the subject be? How long is it? Is it even about the Mask? Stake your claim in the comments and we'll see who's closest when that video eventually drops (to which everyone thinks oh, great, another five year turnaround.)

Happy Sunday all! I have some very exciting news I've been wanting to share for some time, especially for those who've been waiting on me for this for a long ass time. You ready? A'ight-

*Production on the Marvel Project has begun*

After a few years, I've finally finished constructing the scripts for my multi part Marvel video essay series, not dissimilar to the Fantastic Four video I created previously. This has a few more moving parts, including a larger number of voice actors, some visual artists and other bits and pieces that make this a somewhat different beast. There are still a few things left to work out- mostly at the very end of the project's run- but I feel these are things we're going to have to just find on our feet as it moves ahead. Other video essays will pop up in the meantime but I promised I'd let you all know when this got started, and it's indeed getting started.

Naturally, these things cost- and I'm not using AI to cut corners - so I'll be looking to try and start a proper campaign at some point to cover expenses where possible, as well as through stuff like streams and extra videos. Currently I have a Ko-Fi account and have been improving rewards on my Patreon page, and while it's certainly not mandatory to pledge anything, every little really does help in bringing this project forward, and is absolutely appreciated if you can spare a dollar here or there. Do know however that this isn't a threat to not do it- I'm already covering everything I can because I want to get this made, and by any means necessary, already having spent quite a bit already. I just figure if a dodgy Spider-Man fan film can get 100k out of pure spite, I don't see an issue for asking for much, much less to make my passion project, either. Links will be provided for my pages below. Onlyfans next, just you wait.

I also want to mention that I'm still not ready to tell you what it is. Some of you might have guessed or want to know what it is before committing, and I love everyone's guesses so far- but the truth is I feel saying its name will diminish it's power and the incentive for me to surprise you with it, and social media discourse is moving SO fast right now for me to feel okay with sharing it too early. There's no honour left among people who will take an idea or subject from someone else, seeing a chance for some quick clout, and escalate it into a brand new discussion- frankly, I don't want anyone to pre-empt what I'm attempting to do here. Like the FF, nobody is talking about this, not in this way, and I don't really want to lose the chance to present my case with as little outside influence as possible, so you can get the most authentic approach.

In any case, I am so stoked to finally get this started and appreciative of everyone who's stuck by since I made the promise, you really are a part of what drives me to make this better than anything else I've yet made. It's become a love letter to my entire life as a Marvel comics fan and the stuff I'm getting from my collaborators is phenomenal. More info will become available when I'm closer to completion on that first video- but, for anyone wondering when this was getting done, well, now you know!

So, until then folks, Make Mine Marvel.

Welcome back to Fish people Friday.

I've never played James Pond, or it's sequel, Robocod, and maybe I'm missing out. I just know that he was always around in the late 90s and early 2000's- not prominently, of course, but hiding on some bargain bin shelf, or in some corner shop video game rack, staring out as if to say 'i'm a game, for real, play this instead of Jiggy simulator 8.' Well I dunno James. I didn't really care for the easy gag of your name and I thought when you became more recognisable as Robocod you were proving to me things weren't working out. That's one of them weird desperate jokes, you know, putting a hat on a hat. You fought, what, a teddy bear? The Queen of hearts? What was going on James. What fishy nonsense was going through your mind?

Welcome back to Fish people Friday.

It's one thing to write these every Friday, it's another to think of ones that actually ascertain to the holidays they fall on. Easter's about to set off and I'm looking at my fish person list in my fish person file and going maybe I need to look again, maybe there's someone out there I haven't looked at that's miraculously easter themed. A chocolate fish man? No dice. An easter fish woman? No, just weird AI images of fish with rabbit ears. Do I go biblical and do the fish leaping into that boat that one time? Naw, they weren't strictly fishermen, or fish-men. And I already did the Filet o Fish pirate. So it was a simple process of random connections in my mind that brought us from the march hare in Alice in Wonderland to the fish footman, because you can trust a mild opium addict in victorian England to come up with a fish person incredibly tenuously connected to a rabbit guy at least once in their life. Happy Easter, everyone.

Welcome back to Fish people Friday.

Our second entry from the Crash series, from the very strange Crash of the Titans spin off on the DS. If you haven't checked it, and you're a Bandicoot fan, it's worth a look- not because it's a great game (it's not, it's just okay) but because it's clearly made by a weird rogue division that were determined to make clear what big fans they were of the series, right down to the opening title screen and the inclusion of Dingodile (with a water gun, even). Anyway, inexplicably it also has entirely different titans from the console versions including what feel less like titans and more like little men you stand on the shoulders of. One such creature is Joe Blow, a walking pufferfish man who's been cloned en masse. He's a weird little guy, but still less weird than every cutscene having a laugh track.
