I visited EICMA in Milan last week to take part in a livestream hosted by SW-MOTECH together with Leonoor aka Ducatista_lnr.  We chatted about many topics, but mainly the new bikes which caught our attention at the show. It was the first livestream for both Leonoor and myself and it was a pleasure to take part. I’ve got a couple of weeks on the Ducati Desert X to get to know it, but if the first four hours are anything to go by it’s going to be an enjoyable experience! If there’s anything you’d like to know, or would like covered in the review, just hit me up in the comments  #ducati   #ducatidesertx 

The Ride for my is going well, despite a very wet first few days. I’ve reached and visited the pow camp site and museum and I’ll be posting the videos when I get home. That means there won’t be a video released today as usual… 

Finally, I've pulled my finger out with my long-planned trip to Poland which was originally planned for 2020. It was obviously postponed due to Covid and now travel is back as the norm,  it hasn't happened either as I've been working on a new business opportunity that now looks like its a goer (more on that later).

But I thought sod it, there's not that much to plan, I like to travel with a bit of spontaneity thrown in, so there's no reason I couldn't squeeze into late September? The weather should still be good, but the days a little shorter mean perhaps less mileage on each leg;

The rough plan so far is;

Day 1 - Home to somewhere in Germany, probably the Nurburgring area?

Day 2 - On to Rauschenberg, Germany. Home of SW-Motech who would like me to use some of their new luggage. It looks like a really interesting place to visit and I can't wait to see their 3D Bike Scanner in action!

Day 3 - A longish day to push the bulk of Germany to the edge of Poland

Day 4 - A short hop to Lambinowice - The site of the POW camp where my father was held. Some of the wooden cabins still remain and it's now the Polish POW museum. It could be an emotional day.

Day 5 - Through the Czech Republic into Austria, aiming for the KTM Motohall if doable.

Day 6 - Down into the Austrian Tirol.

Day 7 - Moving homewards through the Alsace region into France

Day 8 - The longest leg of the trip and probably boring motorway work with a stop in Reims for lunch.

This is all open to change as I want to stay flexible, and I may try and trim a day off if I can, but I wanted to be able to visit places en route and film as much as possible too. The KTM is almost fully prepped and I just need to pack as light as possible. The plan is to release a video upon my return for each leg.

Any recommendations of places to visit would be welcome.  This was the draft plan which has now been reshaped....
