Today in St. Petersburg, for the first time in modern Russia, the black-yellow-white flag of the Russian Empire was officially raised along with the red Soviet flag and the white-blue-red tricolor of Peter the Great. They were raised on 175-meter flagpoles - the highest in Europe.

The flag-raising ceremony was watched by President Vladimir Putin from the water on a yacht. The establishment of the flags is timed to the dates of the establishment of each of them: 330 years - the tricolor of Peter the Great, 165 years - the flag of the Russian Empire, 100 years - the Red Banner.
