So ... first proper stream with the Fanatec CS DD+ done. My first impressions. TL;DR: is good. Long version: - excellent base! FFB feels very good, I was honestly very positively surprised - very good mounting options on the side and bottom, was no problem to sidemount or bottom mount this thing - it's marketed at 15 Nm but it definitely feels stronger than competing bases at 15 Nm - I had no idea how this whole holding vs peak torque thing really affects real life usage but it's definitely noticable on track, I would probably be more than fine with this amount of FFB and I like a very high setting. - some slight notchiness when just sitting in the pits (probably a BLDC motor with more poles) - once you're driving it's absolutely not noticeable and on par with servo motors - software feels like straight from 1972, but does everything you need it to do, having profiles with actual names would be cool. I'm a bit confused about FFB strength and FEI ... is the latter something that compares to slew rate on other bases? - on iRacing it shows how nice the 360 hz ffb from Simucube actually is because I immediately missed that. Apart from that it felt just as nice as the 60hz competition, wonder if that trueforce like ffb will help in the future if it ever releases - on ACC the base feels very very good, ran the FFB at 55% which gave me the occasional clipping but still felt good while still providing a decent workout - why do we not get ffb when no fanatec wheel is attached? No Fanatec, no, that's just so not right! Luckily SRM to the rescue, but still ... why? You have an excellent wheelbase but hardly any offerings in the highend wheel market, don't make people pay 100€ or whatever that podium hub costs for nothing. I know, ecosystems and stuff, but this is the year 2024 and people like to combine different manufacturers, I think you're honestly just reducing the interest in the base which is a shame because it's good. Made my own spacer/adapter to 70mm - let me know if you want to see a video about that. - price seems a bit steep for what you're getting, but then again I don't know how much this whole console compatibility adds to the price - shipping was 5 days after ordering it anonymously - QR2 system is amazing but kinda unusable if you're not using Fanatec wheels which is a shame, I can't drive with the small F1 wheel - obviously no clue about reliability after 1 day, but even though I ran the base at really high FFB it didn't really get warm ... I don't know if there is any active cooling going on, if it is then it's not audible in a noisy simrig So this thing won't replace my Simucube 2 Pro - that's still the best base on the market I've tried - but it's also not super far away tbh. Great job Fanatec!
