It's neuron time! Cells are happily growing in their new electrode array homes. Now we just need to wait for them to grow so we can connect them up to our new neuron recording system. New video coming next month! We're getting one step closer to playing DOOM! And here's a little sneak peak of one of our new array designs.

Rewatch the last episode to freshen up before the new video drops: https://youtu.be/bEXefdbQDjw

If you recognize what these 2 things are and have been watching the channel for a while, you might know how exciting it is that they're now both in our lab. For those that don't, they're a neural multielectrode array from Multichannel systems, and a new inverted fluorescent microscope. We'll be using both in the next episode of the "Doom neurons" series and are one step closer to making rat neurons play video games!

Neurons would already be growing, but we got snowed in, so they're resting for another day... in our new liquid nitrogen dewar system! We've been hard at work upgrading our lab, and getting ready for this project and we hope you're as excited for it as we are!

If you haven't seen the last episode of the project yet, or want to refresh your memory before the new episode check it out here: https://youtu.be/bEXefdbQDjw

In our new video we showed that it was possible to recreate the way that bats echolocate and have it work for humans using physics. But now the question is, what animal super power should we try and replicate next?

We now carry SO MANY amazing designs in our new store, but we're having trouble picking our favorite. Help us choose!

I may be biased, but I've taken to wearing my Pipette, Cry, Repeat shirt while doing lab work, just to dare the universe into making my reactions fail. I'm not saying it's magic, but I've had nothing but successful PCR reactions since. But mileage may vary.

If you'd like one head to https://thethoughtemporium.ca/ and grab one today to show off your mad science flair!
Everything is now at least $10 cheaper and the quality is higher than ever!

We had an issue with the original store because of the sudden volume and means that we had to cancel the orders that had already been placed. We have sent out, or are in the process of sending everyone whose order was canceled a 5% discount code to help make re-placing your orders easier on the new shop page.

We apologize for this inconvenience and appreciate your patience.

But we are also so thrilled that you are all so excited about these awesome posters! We can't wait to make them for you, and as an added bonus because of this little hiccup, we're extending the sale for an extra week so you'll have more time to place your order and we'll end up making a few more posters accordingly. So be sure to snag one while the sale is open, and check your email for your discount codes if your order was affected.

And if you missed it, be sure to check out our new video and see the mummy we made!

Now that you've seen how we plan on using living neurons to control Doomguy, we have to choose which step on the tech tree we do next!

Should we focus on detecting the signals from the neurons? Or should we work on turning skin cells into neurons so we have more to work with? Hard decisions!

Which are you more excited for? And once we make them play doom, what should we try and control next? Let us know!

No idea what we're talking about? Check out our latest video and learn how to grow living brain cells: https://youtu.be/bEXefdbQDjw

There is something strange growing in our incubator, and it's begun.... to think.

These are cortical rat neurons and they are growing absolutely perfectly. For everyone who's been waiting for an updated neuron video, your wait won't be much longer.

Did you miss part 1? It's a few years old, but here it is in case you missed it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V2YDA...
