Dr. Gladys West an American Mathematician

Dr. West's work contributed to developing mathematical models of the shape of the earth.
These models were later brought together to make GPS.

Today we talk about the founder of SOFTtribe 

Herman Chinery-Hesse

Chinery-Hesse is a Ghanian tech entrepreneur called "the Bill Gates of Africa"

He founded SOFTtribe in 1991. Basically SOFTtribe is an all in one finance suite. It includes a POS system, utility billing, and other electronic systems.

On the second day we look at a woman who pioneered her field.

Katherine Johnson

Ms. Johnson was a mathematician who had a knack for salving complex calculations.

Her work also helped pioneer the use of computers to perform some of these complex calculations too.

A movie about her accomplishments was released in 2016 called Hidden Figures. Taraji P. Henson plays Johnson.

Let me introduce you to Frederick McKinley Jones.

His contribution to technology still affect us today.

The two things that he is the most known for are

-Making innovations in mobile refrigeration technology
-Co-founding ThermoKing (Think of the trucks that carry perishable items, ThermoKing helps do that)
