Gardenias are one of my favorite plants to grow in my zone 9 Texas area. They tolerate everything nature throws at them and give us these beautiful and heavenly smelling flowers.

We've taken time off in the last couple of weeks to allow Tommy time to heal from his Bell's Palsy facial paralysis. I am happy to report that he is about 75% recovered. Happy Easter everyone! See you soon. 

We were finally able to start leveling the house this weekend. All of this wood will be replaced. Had to dig this corner out of the dirt first. 45 years of neglect takes a toll. 

More than once this week I thought I might just be dying. Turns out we have Flu-A. It's been kicking our butts. Trust me when I say you do not want any part of this. Remember to cover your coughs, wash your hands and stay away from sick people. 

Yep. We aren't worried at all. Just continuing to do what we've always done. We've prepared for hard times well in advance and we will leave the rest in God's hands.

Yes our chickens really do love the product and because there are less bugs for them to catch in the winter time, we like having these on hand to supplement their diet with. 

I've been asked about how much beans to put in jars when canning beans. Here is a chart I use. @shirleymckeithen9960 (Click on the image to see what it says at the top). This is for dry beans. If I presoak, I add a little more to the jar than the chart says.
