Wow, a lot of people talking about Barbie, huh! 

I don't have immediate plans to make a video about it, but since this is a topic I've covered many times on this channel, I didn't want to completely leave you hanging. If you're interested in my thoughts, I'd like to direct you to a conversation I recently had about the nominations on Newsweek's The Parting Shot podcast. We talk about the Barbie fandom, how Barbra Streisand's Yentl snub was very different than Greta Gerwig's, and get into the other nominations as well. 

Generally speaking, I think the discourse has been quite narrowly focused on these "snubs" at the expense of other incredible milestones and tends to consider the film's "cultural impact" as justification for its awards-worthiness, which simply has never been a consistent determinant of nominations or wins throughout history.
