(UPDATE BELOW) If anyone has an Audeze Maxwell, do NOT upgrade to the latest v1.0.1.60 firmware.  There is a bug that negatively affects sound and according to Audeze was unintentional.  Please hold off on updating until whatever new version is confirmed to be safe to use.  I would have covered the sound change in a video, but because they said it was unintentional and they will revert, it makes most sense to suggest avoiding it for now.

Update!! - .61 was just pushed out and fixes the issue.  .60 went out by mistake and was not supposed to be public.   Make sure you have the latest version of Audeze HQ and your good to go!

Sorry I've been quiet.  My dog got sick very quickly last week and sadly, on Friday she passed.  She was an amazing dog and our family misses her deeply.  I wasn't in the right mind state to be recording last week or through the weekend but I'm working on catching up again this week and will drop a video soon. Finally got my hands on a beyerdynamic DT 1990 Pro (250 ohm)!  It was the most popular headphone model missing on my Call of Duty EQ video, so I did what I could to get one as soon as possible. LAST day to purchase early-bird discount AXPONA tickets for the 2024 show in April!  It's the best US-based audiophile show that I've been to, and it's in Chicago. A50X Review is done and it's LONG (56 minutes)!!!  Quick poll and I need your feedback!!

There is so much to explain w this headset.  Between the high cost and HDMI interface, multi platform, and advanced configurations with PEQ, pad swaps and more, this ran long.  I want to respect your time though, so let me know what you think! 

Quick update regarding Astro A50X coverage.  Logitech and the PR team denied (my review sample request*) on sending me an Astro A50X for media coverage.  They said to pre order it.  I already preordered it the second it was launched, and paid for expedited shipping.  I asked they ship that preorder so I can still release my review.  I haven't seen a response since that request, which is fine.  I see others have been receiving their pre-orders which is great and exciting!  Sadly - my preorder still hasn't been released for shipping yet.  I've done everything I can to cover this in a timely manner for you all, but have not received any support from their team.  Once it arrives, hopefully sooner than later, I still need to thoroughly test it, as it seems many questions regarding the performance are still unanswered.

To further convey my disappointment with how this was handled, they wouldn't even send me the media kit which contained details about the headset and how it worked until after several channels and sites went public with the official announcement.  I was left in the dark which is odd because the Logitech G PRO X2 coverage went well and they trusted me with that embargoed information.  Trust I did not betray.

Logitech/Astro not supporting me hurts, but it won't influence what I say about the A50X.  If it's amazing, I'll gladly say it.  If it has issues, I promise nothing will be hidden.  This isn't a rant or attack on Logitech and Astro, but I believe in full transparency with a product launch like this.  I'd rather not leave you all in the dark.  I appreciate all of your patience on this, and I promise the video won't disappoint!  Thank you all so much for your support!  Onwards and upwards to 50k subs :)

EDIT - Also wanted to mention that I don't feel entitled to have a review unit, as I understand I'm a smaller channel.  There are many times  a brand won't send something, and that's fine.  It's part of the growth process.  Just wanted to share how it all went down!

My MW3 EQ/Sound setting video will drop at some point tomorrow.  I was hoping to have it done today but I don't want to rush it.  So far I have two solid days of MW3 multiplayer logged with about 20 different headset and headphone combinations.  I've been refining the EQ settings for various models, and will cover the game audio engine as well.  Then it's back to a lot of reviews!!
