I have been judging some of the entries submitted for the Meta Presence Platform, and honestly, wow! I just want to say, amazing job everyone! I didnโ€™t get a chance to review every submission, but I did review 22 of them.

I was particularly impressed with the use of the real world in these submissions. Some did it in such a seamless way that it felt like just a part of reality.

There were some amazing uses of hand tracking; it felt like pure magic.

Great job and I canโ€™t wait to hear about the winners this coming May 31st ๐Ÿฅณ!

This is a HUGE deal ๐Ÿ“ฃ!!!

Meta is rolling out networking building blocks with version (v65), and itโ€™s as easy as just a drag and drop them into your Unity object hierarchy ๐Ÿคฏ.

I saw this in action during a demo I had few weeks ago, and it allows you to decide between Unity Netcode for Game Objects or Photon. They also provide support to test networking capabilities right from the Meta XR Simulator which makes it super easy to test with.

This week I spent a lot of time going back and forth between Meta XR Simulator, Meta Link, and simply using play mode without the first 2 options. One thing I realized is how much time it takes to do this repeatedly and ๐——๐—ผ๐—บ๐—ฎ๐—ถ๐—ป ๐—ฅ๐—ฒ๐—น๐—ผ๐—ฎ๐—ฑ๐—ถ๐—ป๐—ด ๐—ฎ๐—ป๐—ฑ ๐—ฆ๐—ฐ๐—ฒ๐—ป๐—ฒ ๐—ฅ๐—ฒ๐—น๐—ผ๐—ฎ๐—ฑ๐—ถ๐—ป๐—ด just took a big chunk of that time.

Well, I recommend using ๐—˜๐—ป๐˜๐—ฒ๐—ฟ ๐—ฃ๐—น๐—ฎ๐˜† ๐— ๐—ผ๐—ฑ๐—ฒ ๐—ข๐—ฝ๐˜๐—ถ๐—ผ๐—ป๐˜€ which will cut that time significantly, specially if you are looking for very fast dev iteration which this enables when going into play mode.

Take a look at Unity XRI 3.0.2-3.0.3 which are now available and 3.0.2 includes a lot of changes and fixes as well as a new VisionOS working demo.
