Here's another fascinating failure that I've been working on for the last few weeks. This one really amused me: the 1904 Olympic Marathon was a complete mess in all sorts of extremely unusual ways... not least of which was the first person to cross the finish line getting there in a car!

Hope you enjoy the video as much as I enjoyed making it!

It's well past midday in the UK (where I live), so it's time to come clean about my April Fool's joke this year. If something seemed odd about my latest video... it might be because it's actually a recap of the classic 1970s disaster film The Towering Inferno!

Hope it had you fooled for at least a short while. And, if you haven't seen The Towering Inferno yet, I'd certainly recommend it. It's a long film, but a good one... if you don't mind a little bit of hammy acting!

I've put together another of my "fascinating failures" videos on my other channel ( @KristianCrow ). Give it a watch if you enjoyed the last one! This video covers a free flights promotion by a British company that went terribly wrong - culminating in years of legal wrangling and even a (sort of) hostage crisis.

Here's the link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xl2kT... . Thanks for all your support!

Here's something a little different on my other channel: a commercial disaster. It's the same format as my usual videos, but in this story nobody dies, and the damage is mainly financial in nature.

Hope you enjoy it! It was fun to work on something a little lighter, and so I'm hoping to make a few more of these "fascinating failures" in the future!

Somewhat belatedly: happy new year, everyone! I hope that 2023 was a good one, and that 2024 can be even better.

I'm working on some exciting new projects this year, and I can't wait to share them. If you're not already subscribed to my other channel, now would be a great time to do that: https://www.youtube.com/@KristianCrow

In the meantime, thank you so much for subscribing, commenting, sending me emails and suggestions, sharing, etc. I cannot believe that, four years in, this channel is not only still going, but still growing - and that's entirely thanks to you. Cheers!

There are so many incredible eyewitness accounts of the 1906 San Francisco Earthquake that I just had to put together a supplementary video on my other channel where I narrate some of them. There's a bit of everything, from someone who witnessed the collapse of City Hall, to a man whose first concern was saving the silverware.

Check it out if you want more of an insight into what it was like to live through this particular moment in history: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EFkjk...

I'm hoping to make a few more of these whenever there are lots of eyewitness testimonies from a particular disaster. Hope you find them as interesting as I do!

I hope you all found the latest video on the Farmington Mine Disaster interesting. Here's a little something I found while I was doing the background reading for this story: an interview with two miners who survived the disaster - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Escape_From_Farmington_No_9_An_Oral_History.webm .

It really is a fascinating interview, and I'd highly recommend it if you want to get an idea of what it was like to live through this disaster.

I share notes like this for each video on my Patreon, by the way - so here's a link for that if you enjoy this kind of extra insight: https://www.patreon.com/fascinatinghorror

Here's something I've been working on for a little while (with some help from an excellent translator) - my videos translated into German! These aren't just dubbed, either - they're completely redone with German text and subtitles.

If you have any German-speaking friends, please do let them know that they can now watch and listen in German. All being well, there'll be a new video from the back catalogue translated every week!

I've started a second channel - @KristianCrow ! This one will be a place for me to experiment a little - I'm going to narrate some classic horror stories, try a few other storytelling formats, and post the occasional personal story. If that's the kind of thing you might enjoy, please do go ahead and subscribe.

 https://www.youtube.com/@KristianCrow/

I've got two videos up there at the moment - both classic horror stories, including "The Monkey's Paw" by WW Jacobs, which is my absolute favourite horror story of all time. Enjoy!

It's been a busy year so far! I've been working on a few new projects, and also enjoying doing some narration for @DisasterthonTrueHorror , another creator who covers obscure and fascinating disasters. Check out their video if you want to hear my cameo!
