Thank you to everyone that showed up last night for the Anniversary Live Stream! Again, I apologize for the audio problems. Ron Durant and I have figured that out, I believe, and we will not have that issue again going forward. :)

We had as many as 116 people on the live stream at one time with an average of 88 viewers over the course of the hour+ time we were together. I think that’s fantastic!

As of 7 AM this morning (or there abouts) we’ve had another 1200+ view at least part of the stream.

You all are the best!

My apologies for not having a video live at 8 AM this morning. I totally forgot to upload it! It will be live soon. Thank you for your patience and understanding!

Can you believe this number?!? I still have to pinch myself. We have a live stream scheduled for our one year anniversary on June 3rd at 7 pm EST. Will we hit 50k subscribers before that? How cool would that be?!? Thanks to everyone who has jumped on board this crazy train!

I’ve talked about Rakuten on this channel before, and there is a referral link sitting in the description of all my videos. What is it, you ask? Well, it is a “money back” shopping portal. If you purchase something using Rakuten as your starting point, you will get money back into your Rakuten account once you make the purchase. And many times, the items you purchase are already on sale, so you get the discount AND money back into your account.

Why am I posting about this? Well, I understand that for purchases made before May 13, new subscribers will get an additional 10% back on every purchase made in the first 7 days. If the item you purchase usually gets 5% back, you will get 15% back during this time.

There is an extension you can install that will let you know if the site you are on offers a Rakuten money back offer. So, you don’t have to actually start at the Rakuten site. That extension doesn’t work for me on the DuckDuckGo browser, so I always search Rakuten first for anything I am purchasing. Most are online purchases, but many stores also offer in-store money back.

A good example of this for me is the coffee I buy at Mean Mug Coffee in Chattanooga. I buy a couple of bags of coffee beans a month here. Through the iBotta app, I get 6% back. But I’ve also included Mean Mugg in Rakuten. It automatically gives me money back every time I shop there and use one of the credit cards I have on file.

It isn’t much, but making money penny by penny is better than not making money at all. :)

If you want to look at Rakuten for yourself, please consider using my referral link, www.rakuten.com/r/TCHILD175?eeid=28187. I earn a small fee for those who sign up, and that goes to help this channel.

It is private, so I don’t know who signs up or not. I receive no personal information about you whatsoever.

Thanks for reading!

My son in law, Dave Nelson, has completed his epic video of our family trip to Scotland. His skills are amazingly next level.

If you’ve been following this channel, you know that I am knee-deep in planning a November trip to Rome and Florence. I booked my initial Rome hotels using AmEx points and the Hotel Duomo (you decided for me) in Florence with Chase points. I just purchased my Key Master Tour ticket to view the Vatican Museums before the sun comes up by actually opening rooms, turning on lights, and throwing back curtains about 2 hours before they open. I am so pumped! I get back into Rome on November 10. My ticket is for the 11th. And I fly home on the 12th. I just booked the hotel I will be at just 2 blocks from the Vatican Museums. I paid for this room using my new Chase Business Cash card. I need to spend $6,000 in 6 months to get a 75,000 point sign-on bonus ($6,000 is only 6,000 points, so that bonus is huge). As a result, I now have a 9 day trip to Rome and Florence complete with hotels, airfare, and that $564 ticket to tour the Vatican Museums for just under $1,100. Of course, I still have to pay for food, a couple of entrance fees in Florence, and the train back and forth. But this is why I use credit cards for points. I could never do this trip paying cash on a retiree (very small) income. More about the trip later!

I would like o video of Q&A (not a live stream). If there are questions you have about me, my history, the channel, life, or whatever else might be on your mind, feel free to leave it/them here. I’ll give it a couple of weeks to see what shows up! Thanks in advance!

Wow! The video on decluttering my mom's kitchen has nearly 50,000 views! There are almost 400 unique comments. And my mom has meticulously gone through and read every single one. She is still in shock at the success of the video, all the wonderful things said about her, and yes, even the nice things said about me. LOL

If you haven't seen that video yet, you can find it here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FhO8F...
