That’s right I’m going to be starting a full playthrough of FINAL FANTASY VII REMAKE in anticipation for the release of its sequel in February!

hi there Midnight Snap fans! been a while I know! but i'm happy to report that I now have a BRAND NEW FINISHED EPISODE on the way! if all goes well with the uploading and processing it should be available TONIGHT :D if not, then tomorrow almost for certain! it'll be a bit of an unorthodox pick: i wanted to see how the vibes sat with RED DEAD REDEMPTION 2, a game that i've been wanting to tackle in some form for years.

previously I posted that the next Midnight Snap series was going to be Paper Mario, and I DO STILL INTEND on playing Paper Mario for the show eventually, but as you can probably tell based on how long it's been.... the motivation kinda just vanished. wasn't anything to do with the game itself, just hit a bit of a rough point that's been hard to dig myself out of. but RDR2 was kinda the perfect formula of engaging cinematic moments and quiet, contemplative open world activity that really spoke to my brain and helped finally get me on mic for another episode. i'm hoping that there won't be another unannounced 3-4 month break any time soon, i think i mostly am just going to be operating on an "anything is better than nothing" approach with this show.

anyway! all that to say, i hope you enjoy the RDR2 episode. i did my best to compress gunfire sfx and all the cowboy action stuff down to a negligible impact, and the final product still has such a cozy vibe. it was absolutely a wonderful time for me to record. and if it's not for you, that's okay too! it won't be the only game on the roster, but if you do enjoy it then please let me know so i have an idea of whether i should make it an ongoing series!

hello VODheads! just wanted to drop by a give a quick update as to the slow release of the Separate Ways playthrough here on YT. i played through the entire DLC in the last week and the plan was originally to stream it twice and combine those streams into one VOD. it ended up being 3 streams, and the total VOD is a bit bigger than expected. however, it is currently fully uploaded, but NOW i’m running into an issue with YouTube’s processing and quite literally for 2 days it has been stuck at 360p with no indication of when it’ll finish. i’m either going to have to reupload or just wait until it’s ready, but either way it’ll likely be another day or so until i can post it. unfortunately this has also delayed posting the Sonic Frontiers DLC, but that will also be on its way soon. thanks for your patience!

Midnight Snap will return LATER THIS WEEK with a brand new one-off episode, which will also be our first co-commentary episode! My wonderful friend (& SnapCube asset artist!) Katydiids and I played through the ENTIRE Frog Detective trilogy!

Co-commentary is something I've wanted to try for the show since the pilot! It's definitely a slightly different vibe from my solo style, but if y'all enjoy it and find it just as soothing then I'd love to make more guest spots happen down the road! It was so nice to have Katy for this one, her art style being such a big part of not only Midnight Snap's identity but the channel identity as a whole, and she's such a wonderful person to hang out with! I hope you're looking forward to it!

Hello again! Just a quick update on the state of affairs for the near future: If you've watched streams lately you will likely already know that I will be out of town for about a week starting Monday, and as such won't be able to post any videos during that time. Once I'm back we'll officially be in that mid-to-late August window where I've previously said I'm likely to come back in full swing, so I'll be working hard to get back on the ball. Midnight Snap will ALSO be returning with episode 3 soon, I am either going to try and pump out a shorter minisode in order to have something up next week while I'm out, OR I'm going to have to get to work on a full-length entry a little later than ideal once I get back. Either way, I'm excited to produce more and I hope that the existing episodes were good company last month. Thank you for your support and, once again, your patience during what has turned out to be a pretty turbulent Summer for me so far, but thankfully not one without achievement and bright sides.

Next Midnight Snap will release either tonight or tomorrow night! I’ve been targeting a release for yesterday or today but then yesterday I woke up sick and it kept me out of commission for recording all day :( Things are not going my way recently haha BUT!!! Today I feel much better and I’m gonna be doing everything I can! Thanks for your patience with me recently! Things are gonna most likely be a bit turbulent still for the near future but I should be back in full swing of the regular schedule around mid-to-late August. Until then, I’m just taking it day by day :)

hello vodheads and stream viewers alike :)
so this is not a super easy decision to make which is why i'm posting here first to gauge opinions. essentially, i am considering shelving the FF16 series and finishing the game on my own time to give myself room to not only work on projects like Midnight Snap but also recover my energy and refocus as we approach some larger releases. if you've been following my twitter recently or you were at my viewfinder stream last night (will be archived here soon btw!) you have already heard me talk about some of this. but for those who haven't, a quick recap:

last week i ran into a pretty bad mental health spiral, it manifested as a decently large panic attack one night and kinda continued as a general undercurrent of anxiety throughout the remainder of the week and the weekend. so first thing, there's no need to worry! so far this week i'm doing much better and i've been recovering well. but as you can imagine it made it very difficult to stream which is why once again the ongoing series' kinda slowed to a halt for another week or so. pretty much the only thing i was able to work on was Midnight Snap as the vibes of that show were basically exactly what i needed at the time, and it being a passion project was a very big help in distracting me.

in the time since i've kinda had a moment to think about my workload at the moment, as well as future releases coming up and the introduction of Midnight Snap. the subsequent SUCCESS of Midnight Snap is also a major factor in this thinking. i really want to put a lot into this show for the next little while and guarantee that it has a place on this channel well into the future, and in order to do that something is gonna have to give. i know i for certain don't want to drop TLOU2 and Prime 2, so that just leaves me with FF16. it's a game i've been enjoying a WHOLE lot, don't get me wrong, and sharing it has been great. but i feel like i've kinda shot myself in the foot with the pacing of the series so far and it's been very hard for me to keep up the energy. i sincerely can't STAND dropping playthroughs, especially nowadays as i feel i've gotten a lot better about it overall. but here's what i'm thinking can happen if i drop FF16:

- tuesday slots can remain Prime 2 slots until that game is done in the next few weeks or so. it's not a very long one.
- TLOU2 can move to the wednesday slot, as we are at the halfway point of the game and could easily make a lot more progress if i had the consistency of that slot to work with.
- throughout the rest of the week for the next little while i can then put a lot more time into making Midnight Snap the best it can be, and as consistent as it can be for the start of it. i don't want to lose the opportunity that the success of this show is providing, so i gotta make sure i make the best of it.
- if i do have any remaining energy for an extra stream or two in the week, i can speed up the pacing of either ongoing series by doing a bonus episode or do more one-offs, which i've sorely missed.

anyway i apologize about the novel, but i wanted to make sure i was being very clear about my reasoning behind the choice to potentially drop this one, as like i said: i can't stand doing this and i don't want it to come across like a decision i make willy nilly, cause i appreciate that y'all appreciate what i do and i want to give you the most satisfying viewer experience i can. so please let me know if this is something y'all would understand and be okay with!
