The Orenstein Project was established in Israel in 2017 at the request of Henry and Susie Orenstein, residents of the United States, who for many years worked for the welfare of Holocaust survivors in the United States and Israel and wished to add to their contribution also meals for weak populations in Israel. As a Holocaust survivor, Henry Orenstein knew what hunger was and after he survived the Second World War, he emigrated to the United States and established a successful toy business. The organization's activities take place thanks to the contribution of the Orenstein family. The organization distributes meals and food baskets and supports the creation of a supplementary environment and educational and social activities to empower and improve the welfare of disadvantaged populations and to reduce social gaps.
