Hey everyone! I just wanted to give y'all a heads-up that the second half of the 2000 Week 15 Washington @ Dallas game has been blocked by YT. I was planning on posting that game today, but I'll have to scratch that plan for now until I can try to get past it somehow.

Hey, I just wanted to thank everyone who participated in my poll these past two days. The five games that I will post on my channel this off-season are as follows:

1999 Week 4 Arizona @ Dallas
1987 Week 10 Dallas @ New England
1998 Week 9 Dallas @ Philadelphia
2004 Week 3 Dallas @ Washington
2001 Week 15 Dallas @ Arizona

I also received a couple of votes in the comments section for 1998 Week 3 Dallas @ NYG. So I'm going to try to find a good copy of that game and post that too.

The first game will be posted next week. Thanks again!

Hey everyone! Just like last year at this time, I'm going to scale back to posting just 1 Cowboys game per month on YT until football season cranks back up in August. So that means I will be posting 5 more games from now through July.
Which games do you want me to post? Vote now! And if the game you want isn't available in the poll, just post your request in the comments section and I'll count it as a vote. The five games (that I have available in my library) with the most votes will be selected!

1987 Week 10 Dallas @ New England

1998 Week 9 Dallas @ Philadelphia (MNF)

1999 Week 4 Arizona @ Dallas (Irvin's Last Game At Texas Stadium)

2001 Week 15 Dallas @ Arizona

2004 Week 3 Dallas @ Washington (MNF)

I am writing today to my fans, supporters, and friends, to tell you all of certain decisions and changes which I have made. After a lot of thought and prayer, I have come to the conclusion that it’s time for me to stop writing books about the Dallas Cowboys. As much as I love writing books about the Cowboys, time simply won’t allow it.

I’ve grown up working in construction with family. And over the last few years, our workload has steadily and significantly increased. My personal workload and responsibility has increased as well. The free time – and specifically the 2-3 day blocks of free time – that I used to have and were so essential for my efforts at writing books, is no longer there. Add to all of that the fact that my youngest brother is getting older and that we’ve started selling trading cards together off on the side, and, well, life is full. And that’s a good thing.

I’ll be honest. I knew this day was coming. I had a feeling as far back as 2018. And it was a feeling that grew stronger in my spirit as the months and years passed.

I honestly thought that it would happen after I had written my Barry’s Boys collection of books. And that was the plan, in the back of my mind.

But God had other ideas.

I’ve had multiple videos upon multiple occasions get corrupted in recent months. The guy who does the work on my book covers, suddenly he’s had a bunch of personal issues come up and he hasn’t been able to get to certain book covers that, normally, would have been completed back in September. And many other little things have continued to pop up, all things that hinder me – sometimes even prohibit me – from being productive.

God has opened so many doors in other areas of my life in recent years, and I know now what I wasn’t sure about before – basically that He’s been trying to get me to walk through those doors and leave some other things behind.

This has been a decision that has weighed on me. It’s been hard at times. Writing about the Dallas Cowboys has been something I’ve done for a love of it since I was 5 or 6 years old. I started writing my first book when I was 9. In a lot of ways, it’s a part of me.

And, really, the thing I struggled with the most was to understand some of the meaning of all those years. By itself, the thought of putting down my pen and moving on in life didn’t necessarily bother me very much. But what was the point of all the work behind me? What was God trying to teach through it all?

The answer to that question has only recently become clear to me, and it stems from the longest and darkest year of my life. Back in 2021, I basically took 10 months off of writing about football. I was tired of hearing so many different takes from one person or another on the Bible. I was tired of hearing people arrive at two polar opposite conclusions, and then for all parties to declare that nobody was wrong. I was tired of coming to my own conclusions and then having friends tell me that I was lost and going to hell.

But, above all, I was tired of being unsure about so many things in life. Tired of uncertainty.

I had a lot of serious questions about the Bible, so I made a list of these questions and practically begged God to show me the answers to them. Some of these were hard questions, many of which a lot of Christians don’t even want to touch, some of which I didn’t even know if there were actually answers to. But I wanted to know the truth more than anything else. I needed to know the truth.

So, much like I had done in past years when researching Cowboys material, I poured my heart and soul into studying the Bible. I don’t know that I’ve ever done anything in this life with more earnestness.

What I didn’t realize or appreciate at the time was that every single lesson that I had ever learned while writing about the Cowboys came into play with studying the Bible. The ability to absorb information, the understanding of the importance of paying attention to detail, and the carefulness to avoid reading things into the text that aren’t actually there.

And just as amazing is that God showed me from his word the answers to every single question that I had been searching for.

All those years…..all those articles and books…..and all the while God had been preparing and teaching me to learn and study His word.

It was such a powerful lesson that it changed something way down deep inside of me, in a place where only God can touch.

With a little perspective of the past, it allowed me to go forward with peace in my heart into whatever changes the future held.

So there will be no Barry’s Boys or any other books for the foreseeable future. Will I ever write books about the Cowboys again? It’s always possible. Who can tell what tomorrow may hold? But for today, the here and now, books are not on the agenda.

But, with that said, I want to tell you all that, with the help of my brother, I’ll be telling the story of the Cowboys from now on in video format on Patreon. Videos aren’t as intense as books, they don’t demand as much time from the author. It seems like the perfect medium to transition into.

And, since I’ve done a gigantic amount of research on the era, and since some of you have been looking forward to the release of Barry’s Boys, I’ve decided to start telling the story of Barry Switzer’s Cowboys right away. Tomorrow, on Wednesday, I’ll publish my first video in what promises to be an extensive and highly entertaining series about one of the greatest eras in NFL history.

I hope you’ll join me there.

Hey everyone! Just wanted to give y'all a heads up. Later this evening, I'm going to remove the copy of the 1995 Dallas @ Oakland game from my channel and replace it with a new copy that is much higher quality.

Hey everyone! I just wanted to give y'all a heads-up. Last night I uploaded the Cowboys-Cardinals 2002 game, but somehow neglected to include the overtime period. I have taken that video down, and will re-post the game (with OT) hopefully later today, but certainly sometime this weekend.
Thanks for your understanding!

Hey everyone! Beginning in March, I'm going to scale back to posting just 1 Cowboys game per month on YT until football season cranks back up in August. So that means I will be posting 5 more games from now through July.

(Heads-Up #1: You Tube will only allow five options for a poll, otherwise I would have made many more. I've listed additional games to select from down below in the comments section.)

(Heads-Up #2: I've posted several 1997 Cowboys games recently and want to take a break from that year for awhile. So, please, no requests for 1997 until next summer.)

2000 Week 6 Cowboys @ Panthers

2007 Week 7 Vikings @ Cowboys
