Race in Society is a series focusing on timely issues and themes of racial justice. We begin with the premise that race is a key organising principle in society and a technique of governance which reproduces inequality. We also accept, and will unpack, how racial discrimination is a core feature of institutions and social relations. We will explore the institutionalisation of race and racism in health, policy, media, the law, the economy, and beyond. Aims ➡️Introduce critical race theories, concepts, methods and practices in plain language ➡️Enable our audience to identify and reflect on race as a systemic process, embedded in historical and present-day institutions ➡️Demonstrate the practical application of race in policies, service delivery and everyday life ➡️Contribute to a multidisciplinary discussion of race and contemporary social issues.
