Jerry Savelle has played a precious role in the history of the Dufresne family. My husband (Ed Dufresne), Jerry Savelle, Buddy Harrison, and Happy Caldwell conducted meetings together in the 1970s where they did “tag team” preaching, with all four men ministering together in each service. Dr. Lester Sumrall fondly called them “The Four Horsemen.”

Brother Jerry generously sowed his airplane into my husband in the early 1980s, and that airplane served us so well as we ministered across the country - such a generous gift we will never forget!

I can tell you where Jerry Savelle was on October 3, 1980. I got born again while in my car that day, and that night I attended a service Brother Jerry was holding in a room of the Oklahoma City Myriad Convention Center. I still have the notes I took from his sermon that night — “Faith Without Works Is Dead.” He lived what he preached, for his life was full of the fruit that flowed from his bold, large faith!
