Info
This quest for documenting bandishes of Hindustani Classical Music needs your help.
Cunningham's Law states: "The best way to get the right answer on the internet is not to ask a question; it's to post the wrong answer."
Any and all info/corrections on raag identification, lyrics, dates, venues, rights, and variations will be gratefully acknowledged.
This is a work in progress and does not claim to be definitive.
*Sometimes*, esp. for Light Classical Music – thumris etc. – the raags may not be mentioned. Just as they are not on album covers often: because performers tend to take liberties or more than one raag might be mixed. I would rather not mislabel till I know for sure. I am not a trained musician and depend on knowledgeable friends – and you, the reader – to fill in these gaps.
There is no commercial purpose whatsoever in sharing these recordings, allowed by rights holders as per YT rules, with the objective of conserving and propagating our common cultural heritage.
