The Stanford King Center on Global Development is a research center working to improve the lives of people living in poverty around the world. We enable a multidisciplinary community of Stanford scholars to conduct path-breaking research, shape policy and practice, and train and inspire a diverse new generation of global leaders. The King Center’s network of over 120 scholars conducts research in more than 65 countries. A vital facet of the King Center’s work is fostering conversations and collaborations among academics, policymakers, development organizations, and business leaders to move the needle on global development. When scholars know what questions those most impacted need answered, and when people who are shaping policy and practice have access to insights from research, the potential is vast.
