You won't believe what is happening in Portland. 

Have you ever watched this video? I want to do some in the future but they never did that good. What do you think is missing? What comparisons need to be made?

I have come to the conclusion that YouTube Shorts has slowly been killing my channel. If you are interested I will explain.
 This might be two parts. 
  Last September I went to Vidsummit which is a convention for content creators and influencers. At vidsummit the general advice and I would say theme was do Shorts to grow. Prior to that I would maybe do a short or two a month. In mid September I started doing at least 2 shorts a week minimum. October I had my best month but saw a strange drop in views the last few days. The channel has never recovered. November and December which are normally double the income compared to most months were average. January was bad, February sucked and views were down in March but I did those 2 hour videos which boosted a lot of stats because the TV crowd really got into those. At the end of April I started slowing down the shorts and I am starting to see my older stuff get views again. 
  If any of you have channels and have noticed anything like this I would love to know. If you are a new creator and need help, feel free to email me I am a well of knowledge but still don’t know everything about YouTube. And no, I don’t charge for advice like others do. I just like to help.

Hey everyone, 
I had a very nice experience the other day. A man walked up to me at a camera store and asked if he could say hi. 
In my head, I was asking "Is that something you ask permission for?"  He said he and his wife have watched the channel since the early days and my video about NOT moving to California put the thought in their head that it is OK to leave California. This video is 6 years old. I can't believe I have been doing this for over 6 years.  
  Anyway, if I have a strange look on my face if you approach me, give it a second and I will be normal. I am still getting used to being recognized in public.
