While people are discussing the AI pin, just a quick reminder that 4+ month when I made this video it was already clear why the whole thing *fundamentally* doesn't make sense. It's not just that Humane built a bad version of this product, but actually that the core idea was a bad one from the start.

Why voice computers always fail

While I recently tested the Vision Pro, my next video will actually be all about the tech behind "real" see-through AR glasses & why today companies opt for VR headsets emulating reality instead of those. Stay tuned!

Due to popular demand, Lifetime Nebula memberships are back for the holidays and you can now not only buy them for yourself, but also as a gift for a loved one! :)

Why Lifetime? Because on the one hand it gives you Nebula access for as long as you and the service are around, but on the other, it's the ultimate way to help us create new, original videos for you to watch.

We have some *really* big Nebula projects cooking in the background that we think you will love and having a few dedicated viewers willing to pay upfront means we can get to work on more of them right away!

Of course regular subscriptions are also available & how we expect most regular users to get Nebula, so whichever is your preference, here are the links:

PSA part 2:

We finally got an official statement about the CuriosityStream / Nebula bundle. This statement is slightly different from what I said based on earlier info I had, so please read for details:

EDIT: Please note that I have received new information since I made the post I below which means the original post is not 100% accurate. I'm leaving the original message below unomodified for the sake of transparency.

For the slightly updated version, please read the official statement from Nebula here:

 https://www.reddit.com/r/Nebula/comments/17pb9oh/an_update_on_the_curiosity_stream_bundle/

Original message:

"Important PSA:

If you are still a CuriosityStream subscriber, be aware that they are currently mass-emailing subscribers with what I think is a VERY deceptive "offer".

They push users to renew 2 year subscriptions, promising continued Nebula access for bundle subscribers. In reality, Nebula access for CS subscribers expires on December 31st. This means you'll have <2 months of Nebula out of your "locked in" 2 year contract. All their communication seems to imply the opposite.

If you got a CuriosityStream account mainly to watch Nebula, I recommend getting a direct Nebula subscription instead. With the CS bundle coming to an end, it will be the only way to watch Nebula starting from Jan 1st. A direct subscription is actually also a better way to support creators.

My link for signing up is https://go.nebula.tv/techaltar

Please note that I am not able to give significantly more details without getting closer to NDA limits than I'm comfortable with."

My latest video had multiple glitches that I didn't notice in the final export. We are re-rendering it now and a fixed version will go live again soon.

Quick survey. Do you use wired headphones / earphones with a 3.5mm headphone jack? (if other, comment)

Never, or extremely rarely and I don't mind

My devices don't support it, but I would want to

Fun fact: my video editor Edemski also made the channel music for both TechAltar and The Friday Checkout. And just yesterday he released new music himself. If you like my stuff, give him a listen!

These help us finance more ambitious Nebula Originals & platform improvements right away without having to wait for years or raise money from VCs.
