Coming tomorrow is the extraordinary story of Vincent van Gogh's last painting. His last few days, are something I have been fascinated with quite a while, and it is only now - over a century after he died, that a long standing mystery was finally solved - and quite by accident! 

As well as his unusual last work, I also look at some of the many, many, myths about Van Gogh.

Had to take a short 2 week break from YouTube as sometimes the work is just so all-encompassing, taking over everything else and I want to avoid YouTube burn out. I also wasn't happy with my initial script, and it needed more work and research. Therefore, my next film is delayed and will probably be out on the 8th March instead of tomorrow - my apologies. 

My next video is actually a follow up my Starry Night video and looks at van Gogh's life in Auvers-sur-Oise, and his (surprising) last painting, including very recent evidence. I have been wanting to make this video for a while and the new information is so interesting. I'll also be debunking some myths and (endless) conspiracy theories. 

My next Great Books Explained video, is probably my most read book, and re-reading again recently was such a joy. "The Little Prince" by Antoine de Saint-Exupery - What a beautiful and much needed work of art! It's been a while, but a new Great Art Cities is released this Friday at 8:45pm (UK time). This time, we look at the incredible city of Istanbul, a crossroads of art and culture as seen through three icons of Roman, Byzantine and Ottoman origin. A truly astounding city straddling Europe and Asia - Hope you like it as much as I do! James

It will be a wonderful immersive experience in a spectacular setting, with great food, speciality wines, and fellow art lovers - in one of my favourite European countries! It's a small group (10-15 max, my choice), so it will be really focused on learning one-to-one, and will include guided museum visits, but it means places are limited.
