Avy is an Emacs package for jumping to visible text using a char-based decision tree. It is similar to ace-jump-mode and vim-easymotion.
Avy allows to use the search mechanic to efficiently move to another place within the visible area. In other words, you choose the place that you want the cursor to be and with a search for a word followed by a label selection, you quickly jump there. Avy is one of the most powerful packages in Emacs that provide such text-jumping functionality.
Once you get used to Avy, it is almost as if you can move the cursor using your eyes, just by looking where you want it to be placed.
Doom is an Emacs configuration for the Stubborn Martian Vimmer. It can be used as a base for your own configuration, or as a battery-included Emacs distribution. Emacs Doom is also smaller and faster than similar Emacs distributions (such as Spacemacs). Doom is known for its polished UI and focus on usability.
