This week I got behind the wheel of a 2018 BMW X5M, and oh boy was this thing sweet! If you by any chance need the practicality of an SUV, but also want to hang on to the visceral fun of a proper 'M' car... then look no further! This is of course the previous generation F85 series X5M, and not the brand new F95 model. Should you buy this INSTEAD of the newer one ?!? Well you can get into one of these for well BELOW $80k as opposed to shelling out over $110k for the F95 series (even more for the Competition variant...) This 2018 X5M still boasts an S63 Twin-Turbo V8 producing 567hp, a variant of the same motor found in the brand new X5M. This alongside a fantastically programmed ZF8 speed and an AWD system... propels this tank to 60 in about 4 seconds flat!! What I didn't expect was the sheer amount of leather found all around this cabin. I could barely find any hard or scratchy plastics at all! So for somebody looking at a slightly more affordable performance SUV, and who wants a bit more luxury than the new X3M can provide, look no further! FOLLOW ME!!
