We already posted a bunch of Best Of round-ups, so now we need to look back and cherish the moments of complete and utter let-down from each of the big PC companies. This past year began with hope as cryptomining collapsed and released its deathgrip on GPU prices, only to give way to a newfound AI obsession from NVIDIA, AMD, and Intel that ultimately began re-driving some of those prices back up. We also got to witness the pure hubris required to launch a 16GB RTX 4060 Ti for $500 and target it at "1080p gaming," perhaps challenged only by ASUS' best efforts to blame the customer when CPUs exploded in their motherboards. And of course, our thanks to Intel for sneaking its Snake Oil meme in right before the end of the year.
