World War 2 Total War. A global war with massive tank battles, huge sprawling city maps, deep espionage mechanics and multi continent campaigns. From naval engagements to massive tech development and the potential gritty atmosphere. This is the biggest war the World has ever seen, and I can think of tons of reasons for why this could be the perfect setting for a new historical Total War game & next to titles like Empire, Napoleon or Shogun 2 Fall Of The Samurai, we certainly know this style of modern warfare is possible, but how would it really work in a Total War game?
