This week, I went over to my friend Ryna's awesome new metal shop to learn to forge a silicon bronze spoon. This was a super fun one day build wherein I learned a ton of new techniques and skills. I learned the proper colors to look for while forging non-ferrous materials, the proper working temps, cold-work, and got to experience the phenomenon of work hardening first-hand. It made me extra excited to double down on my efforts to finish up my own blacksmithing shop back at the farm, and now I have a super awesome bronze sugar spoon! I know I've done lots of bushcraft style carved wooden spoons, but this was a bit of a diversion from that, and I couldn't be more pleased with the end result. Help Support this project and others!
