Just how much damage can nuclear weapons do? This lecture shows the scale of the problem by simulating detonations of a variety of weapons over the White House---a likely target in the event of a nuclear exchange. The damage from the smallest weapon---the Davy Crockett--can be measured by the number of buildings. The damage from the largest weapon---the Tsar Bomba---is simply the entire metropolis.
Also, some fun facts about hot dog carts and Earth-killing meteors!
