Do you have walls up that are preventing you from getting close to people?
Ask yourself — what you think will happen if you allow yourself to get close to them? Do you think you’ll be abandoned, rejected, or that it makes you weak?
Once you come face to face with this negative belief, it’s time to practice some exposure work.
Rather than expecting yourself to go all-in at once, allow yourself to be vulnerable in small, incremental ways instead.
That way, you can get comfortable with being vulnerable in a way that doesn’t feel overwhelming.
