#DisabilityDemandsJustice: Over the past several decades, work has been transformed by globalization, changing power dynamics, new technologies, and most recently, the COVID-19 pandemic. People with disabilities are already 40% less likely to be employed, and they continue to be marginalized and underrepresented in conversations around the future of work. The pandemic has revealed that the American economic system is broken and has been for a long time. When we do recover, we can’t go back to ‘normal’ but must build new ways of working that intentionally include disability equity.
Ford Foundation hosts disability justice and rights leaders Day Al-Mohamed, Teresa Danso-Danquah, and Taryn Williams for a conversation imagining what inclusive policies and workplaces look like moving forward to ensure safe, fair work for all.
This event is part of a series of conversations for funders dedicated to building community between social justice and disability movements and recognizing opportunities for including disability in their work.
