I recently had a BOT account (MasterStockfish) created on lichess.org. With my BOT account, I'm running the world's best chess engine, Stockfish 15, on a Windows 10 Pro with an old i7-4770 CPU @ 3.40 GHz using 3 threads. In this video I decided to put my CPU to the test by challenging the strongest BOT account (ResoluteBot) on the site. ResoluteBot is also running Stockfish engine, but with the key difference being that it's run on an AMD Threadripper 3990X! The main question I was curious to find an answer to is: "Can a 4th generation i7 (4 cores) compete with an AMD Threadripper 3990X (64 cores) in a game of chess?
I'm a self-taught National Master in chess out of Pennsylvania, USA who was introduced to the game by my father in 1988 at the age of 8. The purpose of this channel is to share my knowledge of chess to help others improve their game. I enjoy continuing to improve my understanding of this great game, albeit slowly.
