Make Ready with Brendan Souder: Combat Heavy Rifle
In this video, Brendan Souder walks you through operating a heavy rifle, also known as a battle rifle. These are rifles that are autoloading that fire so-called “full power” ammunition, such as .308 Winchester, and utilizing detachable magazines. Brendan covers firearm safety and setup, rifle handling, carry positions and rifle presentation, fundamentals of marksmanship, making ready, rifle zero simplified, kneeling, sitting, squat and prone positions, barricade shooting, post target engagement, immediate action, natural point of aim, and multiple drills you can practice on your range.
Brendan Souder is a career Special Forces soldier who has spent his 20-year career in Special Operations between the 75th Ranger Regiment and Special Forces. Souder is a certified firearms instructor and operates his training company, RPGi (Range Project Group International) out of the Florida panhandle. RPGi provides full spectrum training courses in the United States and abroad for military, law enforcement and civilians. As an avid competition shooter, Brendan achieved the Grand Master (GM) designation in competitive pistol.
