I recently found myself in Dublin Ireland and decided to try speaking the Irish language, also known as Gaelic, with random strangers. This is trickier than it might sound because thanks to centuries of British colonization most Irish people do not actually speak fluent Irish. But overall I found Irish people to be extremely friendly and even though they were quite surprised to see an American tourist speaking Irish they were definitely willing to practice.
