MacBook Pro 13.3”
Model: A1278 820-3115
Year: 2012
Issue: Fan always spinning at 6000 rpm.

It was a very simple repair process. If you are reading schematics and if you know how to use your equipment it will be simple for you too.
This MacBook came from a regular customer, he explained to me that this logic board started to fail a couple months ago, but he wasn’t ready to fix it.
Fan was going to 6000 RPM and it makes it loud and a little slower. I decided to make a video explaining the regular repair process. So I went directly to the fan connector and I found the SMC_FAN_0_CTL was going from 1.6V to 3.7V for not real reason. To get this conclusion i did test all the resistors and the Q5660.
After checking and testing in 2000 RPM and 6000 RPM I get that SMC is taking the wrong decision. I decided to replace it and well you can see everything in the video.
Enjoy!
