Zumi delighted guests with a visit to the main habitat yesterday! This nearly 5-month-old eastern black rhinoceros is still getting comfortable being near larger groups of people, but she and her mom Zuri explored the yard and enjoyed a variety of snacks during their outing.
While we cannot guarantee guests will see Zumi because the growing rhino is still easing into her new surroundings, she and her mom will be given access to the main yard on Mondays and Wednesdays. It’s always their choice to enter the habitat, and afternoons tend to be the time of day they feel most comfortable in the area viewable to the public. We do ask that visitors keep this area a quiet zone during this time. Guests did a great job yesterday of keeping noise to a low level for the growing rhino’s big afternoon!
