The series Black Mirror and its chapter "Nosedive" have become a reference point when talking about the social credit system that China has scheduled for 2020 and whose trial versions are being used by millions of Chinese. In the first part of this video I question to what extent this comparison is fair and I explain how the system of Zhima Credit works (also known as Sesame Credit). In the second part we touch on the issue of surveillance through facial recognition, an aspect that has also been interpreted as a sign of China's progress towards becoming a dystopia.
