Stop dreaming about “someday”. Use what you’ve got and start, right now. 10 years ago today I filled my first egg carton. 12 eggs from my 3 illegal backyard chickens. I didn’t grow up on a farm, but I had a dream. At 5 years old, I announced to my family that one day, I would become a farmer. We never even had a family dog or cat, my parents are still living in a rental housing even now. I worked for team years to get my farm, and eventually, I plan to build them a house here too. When I was 24, my husband and I lived in the city. I got my first chickens, dig up my backyard and planted my first garden. Back then, I couldn’t imagine having enough land to house my own goats, much less something as enormous and intimidating as a cow. But, one step at a time, I used what I had to get where I wanted to go. Dream big, audacious dreams. Work towards them, a little bit, every day. Expect hurdles. The bigger the dream l, the bigger the hurdles. If it was easy, everyone would do it. What are your big, audacious goals?
