Dove Ad campaign: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ou7CyPtkpng
Hey lovely's hope all is well.
This video is meant for empowering. Empowering eachother to be confident with our natural tresses. Major Major shout out to Dove for this beautiful campaign. What a beautiful message you are putting out. This is so crazy, I filmed this video before the Oscars. I saw the ad before the Oscars. If you dont know what im referring to, its the drama between Zeydana and Giuliana Rancic.

I'm going to be completely honest with you guys. When I saw Zeydana on the red carpet I was shocked. Shocked that a girl at such a young age (18) between all these grown people had the "courage" to make a bold statement like that. As quickly as that feeling came up, a new one entered. A "why should this be a shocking thing, she is just wearing her hair as so many people have it naturally. This should not BE a statement this should not BE a surprise this SHOULD BE a "NORMAL" feeling.
The reason why I left nr 1, 2, 3 in the video as hairstyles is because I remember as a young 10-12 year old I would never want to wear my hair just free and lose. Always combed it back in a ponytail or 2 pochahontas style braids, never thought anything of it until I wanted to make this video. Was I embarressed? Was I ashamed? To tell you the truth I dont have the answer, I never was bullied, I never got picked on. I was always the "popular nice girl". So why couldn't I completely be myself at that age?
My mom (caucasian) absolutely loved, adored my hair. As a caucasian female who had her first and only child with a black man she knew a whole lot about my hairtype and what it needed as far as nuturing goes. She took such good care of my hair and I wish I could go back in time to when my hair was that healthy and natural (not relaxed, no bleaching,...). But we live and we learn to make our own choices. I think my point is that I cant tell you why I didnt want to have my hair out and about like I wanna do now. Thats fine, as long as I can make the next girl super comfortable with her hair.
