As a structural engineer, I have always loved the show grand designs and how these architectural design houses come together. So I have decided to watch an episode and how my structural engineering side reacts to Grand Designs. The one key aspect I have always felt that grand designs missed from input and commentary from a structural engineer, so I will add my reactions to add some of the elements I think the show is missing. When watching grand designs I also noticed that it could also highlight the benefit a structural engineer can have early on in concept phase of an architectural design house, and how structural input could both achieve efficiencies and the architectural vision.
