Elaborating on these thoughts, this visual probe dives into epigenetics and what influence it might have on the genetic code of a living organism. Epigenetic signals are responsible for the establishment, maintenance, and reversal of metastable transcriptional states that are fundamental for the cell’s ability to “remember” past events, such as changes in the external environment or developmental cues. In the same way that fossils are the archive of former life and therefore a memory of data on earth."
