Highlights from MassRobotics RoboXchange 2024
The RoboXchange series is designed to foster collaboration between Massachusetts professors, startups, industry, and international counterparts in the field of robotics and artificial intelligence.
Building a brain: Professor James Marshall - University of Sheffield, UK & CSO/Cofounder Opteran will present a differentiated approach to autonomy based on a holistic understanding of the brain. James will show how traditional AI poorly imitates a portion of the human brain and that the secret to creating "thinking" machines lies in copying the brains of simple organisms such as insects. He will tie theory with practice by discussing how this "Natural Intelligence" approach can create robust and efficient autonomy for machines in the real world.
