Ok, we know that we usually put bands on trams and we sure don't want to confuse you. However, as the Melbourne Comedy Festival is on we thought we would give you and a bunch of surprised commuters a real treat. This was the line up: One of Australia's most popular radio show hosts and comedian Tom Ballard, Wookie look alike Dave Callan, Police heckler Josie Long (you'll get it when you watch the clip) and gorgeously wacky Mel Buttle. People couldn't believe their eyes when they joined the tram. It was such a great buzz and no one could stop smiling when we finished! Big shout out to Triple J who helped us make it all happen! After waiting for the tram to clear out, and probably going the furtherest out of the city we've ever been. Vance performed two singles from his debut EP 'God loves you when you're dancing' (such a good album name) 'Riptide' and 'From Afar'. Everyone on the tram was mesmerized his performance, some even running from one end of the tram to the other to see what was going on. After getting off in Clifton Hill we were treated to an impromptu Tram Stop session, a cover of The Boss' Dancing In The Dark, keep your eyes peeled for this one! After selling out 4 shows at the Northcote Social Club, supporting the likes of Bernard Fanning and Julia Stone on tour and now a spot on the Splendour in the Grass line up, it's pretty safe to say we can expect amazing things for Vance Joy! --- Stay up to date with the latest from Tram Sessions!
