We have a MacBook Pro Retina 2015 (Model A1502) that faces the issue of intermittent power on and off. Today, we will show you how to repair the motherboard of A1502 Macbook in particular the System management controller (SMC) chip on the motherboard.
Some background information- upon further checking we saw that there were traces of water damage on some of the components on the motherboard. That could be the underlying cause for the issue to happen. (Indeed, water is the No. 1 enemy of all electronic devices.)
Looking up on what is the use of SMC chip you will see that "The SMC has roles in controlling thermal and power management, battery charging, video mode switching, sleep and wake, hibernation, and LED indicators."
In this case, due to water damage it affected the power consistency on the MacBook Pro 2015 motherboard.
