As always, you can see the STH main site article with more: https://www.servethehome.com/facebook-introduces-next-gen-cooper-lake-intel-xeon-platforms/
In this video, we take a look at the new Facebook servers utilizing the upcoming 3rd generation Intel Xeon Scalable processors codenamed "Cooper Lake." These new platforms also support next-gen Intel Optane DCPMMs codenamed "Barlow Pass." We go into the OCP Sonora Pass dual-socket platform as well as the single socket and high-density Yosemite V3 platform that Facebook uses to deliver services across its platform.
We also discuss a bit about why the Delta Lake Yosemite V3 platform is a major factor in there not being a public Xeon D-2200 series "Cascade Lake-D" series of processors since Facebook, a major Xeon D customer, is using Cooper Lake in this generation.
If you want to see the Open Compute Project platforms powering Facebook services, then this is a look into the next-gen.
