During these trying and uncertain times, we hope to be able to spread a little bit of love and movie magic by showcasing some of our favourite moments in film.
This week across our channels, we are celebrating the brilliance of Woodfall Films, which led the British film revolution of the 1960s. Its founders were among the original Angry Young Men whose films broke the mould, heralding a new generation of filmmakers and modern British cinema.
Our Marketing and Project Coordinator, Demi Rodriguez, has picked a wonderful clip from 1964's Girl with Green Eyes, directed by Desmond Davis and adapted from Edna O'Brien's novel The Lonely Girl.
The film tells the story of a young, naive Irish country girl's romance with a sophisticated older man, and won two Golden Globes in 1965,. In this short clip, the girls (Lynn Redgrave playing Baba, the flatmate of Rita Tushingham’s character Kate Brady) are getting ready in style for a night out.
